The miracle of Le Morne
- The miracle of Le Morne
Mauritius is one of the Mascarene Islands, an archipelago of volcanic origin, which is perhaps part of an undersea chain also including the Seychelles and Réunion. It was formed (together with the neighbouring Rodrigues) about 8-10 million years ago. It measures 58 km from north to south and 47 km from east to west, and is about 800 km from Madagascar, on the same latitude as Harare (Zimbabwe) and Rio de Janeiro. The nation of Mauritius includes the main island, Rodrigues and numerous atolls.
The island has many attractive facets. Being lovers of the “wind sport”, we've chosen one of the most beautiful beaches.
Le Morne beach is a kite surf paradise near the fishing village of the same name (2,000 inhabitants), which is famous for its fish market and its colours.
Things happen at Le Morne of the sort that every traveller dreams of when seeking out new experience and knowledge: a perfect union between tourism, people's vivacity and cultural wealth: the miracle of this magical place.
